ISAIAH’S END-TIME TIMELINE
ISAIAH Chapter 6
OUR REFUSAL TO APPLY GOD’S GRACE
ISAIAH 6 contains a vision of the Son of God, the Lord of hosts, sitting on a throne in a heavenly temple. [John 12:41] Attended by praising angelic seraphim of brilliant countenance, crying holy, holy, holy to the implied Trinity. At the sight of the King of Glory, Isaiah cried out, suddenly being acutely aware of his woeful condition. Considering himself worthy to be cut off from the promises of the forefathers, from the fiery altar, representative of Christ’s Sacrifice. He granted atonement covering for Isaiah’s sin, and there and then, answering to the call of the Lord, was the special commission of Isaiah given early in his ministry. That being of a prophet, with a certain word of judgment to the chosen people, making their heart fat and making the way for the just departure of the grace of God.
THIS JUDGMENT SEALED THE PEOPLE TO BE CUT OFF FROM THE FULLNESS OF THE INHERITANCE
…and opened the door to the Gentiles.
Withdraw the Sun and the earth turns dark and cold. Withdraw the Spirit of grace from the nature upon the man whom He abides, and he becomes dark and cold in accord with his dominating carnal nature. Satan withstood God in His favor towards Job. [Job 1] “Hast not thou made an hedge about him (the hedge is not the grace, but the protection as a result of heeded grace) …But put forth thine hand now, (remove the hedge you have around him, and I’ll take away all his possessions) and he shall curse you to thy face….” Then again he moved God against him with the words: “skin for skin”. Yet neither then did Job sin.
Removing God’s protection did not cause Job to sin. Had satan been able to convince God to remove His grace from his heart (soul aligned with Spirit/spirit), then Job would of naturally became the man satan accused him of being. Job could have in his flesh (soul aligned with natural carnal mind and sensual body) resisted the growing grace he had obtained unto in the seeking of the Lord. That by receiving the reasoning of prideful and selfish lies of his/our inherent fallen nature. That which is contrary to our inherent enlivened spirit, void of and impossible it is for the Spirit/spirit influence (Romans 8:7), having heeded or minded (Romans 8:1-5) thereby would of then forsaken his own mercy (Jonah2:8). That is to say we grow dark and cold after having received the Spirit/spirit of grace we, by pride or idleness, or lack of will (John7:17), are then subject to New Covenant grace diminishing and finally its withdrawal. Thus we have this condition of the Jew 5 times described by Christ and His servants in the New Covenant. “Well spake the Holy Ghost, by Isaiah the prophet, unto our fathers, saying, GO unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and not understand.” Then their hearts growing dark became cold as a result of their wills, as the Spirit withdrew the light/OC grace upon their hearts.
MERCIFULLY GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON
….and declares His desire that no man should perish. The Spirit of God’s Atonement grace moves upon the entire face of the earth (Genesis 1:2), essentially over every living human being.
Scripture declares in Romans 9:18 that God hardens the heart of whom He wills. That is to simply say God’s “ways” of Holiness and Justice determines the point to which a man may resist the merciful grace granted on his undeserving soul, and at a point withdraws His influence. If it were not for the undeserving light (spiritual and physical) God puts upon this wicked world, it would immediately descend into total darkness.
A greater grace/God’s influence, was upon Abraham’s seed, few in leadership received or followed it. The common people were generally following after the dark shepherd-ship of the leadership and were idle or ambivalent until John the Baptist. Christ searched out of Israel those 11 who had hearts who humbly, and to a great degree, unwittingly, esteemed the Spirit of grace upon Israel’s people. Just as in the physical Earth the Sun’s healing light diminished at the fall (Isaiah 30:26), and the water that flowed up naturally and watered completely and constantly stopped, and rain fell and became sporadic, so did then His grace. Grace in its original state was naturally: His abundant Divine influence. Grace having been rejected became: undeserved and unmerited mercy. This grace, then a gift… mercy. It is the residual of the natural grace.
It is not for the rejection of this minor grace per se the chosen people are being judged, but for the rejection of the Divine influence upon their rebellious wills that naturally accompanies and follows that merciful undeserved unmerited favor, that they had personally experienced.
God’s Glorious Presence, having receded at the Fall/rebellion of man, left only the residual grace of mercy upon the greatly diminished “dead” spirit. Just enough power of influence for a partial atonement on anyone who would heed the instructive Word of God. The World’s word and nature is man’s option and the drain of grace; God’s minor and greater Divine influence. Wherever we set our attention, that becomes our desire. Minor grace, like rain, falls on all. Some remove themselves into the dryness of the World, while others humbly soak it in. The leadership of Israel was religious but Worldly. They had grace, or ears, but refused its influence. Christ could have granted more Grace upon their hearts but in accordance with God’s determined grant of allotment, anymore would exceed His Justness. Holy Scripture states none may grow in New Covenant Grace (divine influence) or none may fall from Grace. (Not His minor grace, but from the greater Grace of life changing influence). The fall from Grace or the grow in Grace is not the residual grace of Mercy upon the whole World, but the Grace / Divine influence according to willing yieldedness or lack thereof to His influence. That is to what He says and to what you see that He does in THE WORD.
God has declared His withdrawing of His Spirit’s aid to Judah. This was/is an act of Justice and Wisdom. The accelerated exponential judgment of withdrawal and speaking in parables to Israel [Matthew 13:13-15] began after the blasphemy recorded in Scripture in Matthew 12:24. But unto those, His Disciples, was given more grace/Divine influence. “…it is given unto you (note they are not Gentiles, but the founders of a new spiritual nation) to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.” [Matthew 13:11]
ISAIAH 6:9 “And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed (or hear on), but understand not; and see ye indeed (keep seeing), but perceive not.” There are similarities in the supernatural display of Isaiah’s ministry calling, and his exhorting message to unbelieving Judah/Israel and that of Paul’s calling into ministry, and message that would effectively complete Isaiah’s call and message of 6:9 “Go, and tell this people…..” The result of that commanded message: their rejection, the withholding of grace. This then the natural progression of their insensitivity, not by a direct immediate act of God, but by the fact that God’s Justice allows for no other effect. Therefore resulting in Paul justly being called and anointed was sent to fulfill the long awaited bringing in of the Gentiles. [Acts 9:4-6, 15-18]
The end to which the preaching of Isaiah promoted was finally realized in its fullness in the preaching of Paul to the Jews of Rome after their refusal of the Gospel of the Messiah, Jesus the anointed One. And then follows with these words: “Be it known therefore unto you, …..that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and they will hear it.” [Acts 28:23-28] The ministering of the truth to the rebelling Jews, by fiat of God, was not for revival, but the prescription of blindness and hardness. What is passed over in the mentioning, is the intervening circumstances: the people sinning and the withholding of His grace.
The imprecation of the New Covenant offender of God’s grace carries the same heavy consequences. For the rain received or rejected brings forth different crops. “For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing form God: But that which beareth thorns an briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.” [Hebrews 6]
Does this mean that God has annulled the great promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? NO, not at all. Paul lays out the great mystery in Romans 11 where he declares God has always a remnant in the Nation, from Ahab till even unto today. Had Judah received the Word of exhortation, “salvation” as it is in the New Covenant Gospel, nor Israel’s exclusive promises would have come to the Gentiles. This then relates to the Jews’ loss. The Word declares the Lord will “…provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you.”
“How long,” the prophet asks, “…..until the cities are desolate?…” This prophetic word having all progressive repetitive desolations. Nebuchadnezzar’s, Titus’, Hadrian’s and the end times of Jacob’s Trouble in view down through time. Christ’s Words declared, “…your house is left unto you desolate.” [Matthew 23:38; Luke 13:35] That is to say in continued blindness and hardness until the final end time fulfillment of this Isaiah’s prophetic word and My Return. They all have the same time in view: The end times of their utter desolation. These also are the descriptive prophetic words of the Book of Revelation regarding the Land and the people of Israel in the last few years of Jacob’s trouble. Paul defines the time as “…until the fullness of the Gentiles come in…” in Romans 11. But just as in the threat with a promise is spoken here in the last verse of chapter 6, so Paul also declares in Romans 11 that God will always maintain a remnant. Albeit very small, for their forefathers sake, those of that election of grace.
