ISAIAH’S END-TIME TIMELINE
Isaiah’s End-time Timeline Chapters 62-63
THE THREE GATHERINGS
Deuteronomy 31:29-30, John 15, Daniel 12:1-3, Zechariah 14, Mark 4:29
The Agricultural symbolism of the First-fruits Gathering, the Harvest Gathering, and the Gathering of the Vintage for the Winepress of the Wrath of God.
Isaiah 63:1-4 “Who is this that cometh from Edom (Rome/ Babylon), with dyed garments from Bozrah? This that is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment for the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.”
This verse is in rear view of Deuteronomy 31:29,30 and the song of Moses in chapter 32; see verses 32,33 & 40-42. “If I wet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me. I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to adversaries, and I will be merciful unto this land, and to his people.”
And together they both, in future, have the end time view the valley of Jehoshaphat/Megiddo/Armageddon as seen fully played out in Revelation 19:11-13. “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doeth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. This Last Day event and events directly associated with the manifest 2nd Coming of the Lord to the earth is further elaborated on in the book of Revelation chapters 7, 14:17-20, chapter 15, & other verses in chapter 19.
Revelation 7:1-8 answers to Isaiah 63:7-19, as it, and the rest of Revelation 7 also does to Deuteronomy 32:43.
Read all of Revelation 14. Verses 14:17-20 finishes with the third Agricultural reaping typing; the grape vineyard. The previous two being the First-Fruits offering, then the Harvest. This one is the last and representative of the terrible wrath of God in describing its participating consequences as that like the Vintage reaping of the “….clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe.” The bloodshed of humans is typed as the winepress of grapes. The Vintage is the destruction of the followers of Anti-Christ, as the First-Fruits and Harvest is the ingathering of the servants of God. That which depicts the ripeness of both His friends and foes. [Isaiah 63: 1-6 with Joel 3:13]
THERE ARE 3 VINES IN THIS WORLD
The Vine of Christ (John15 with Mark 4:29 as a result of Matthew 13:37) ripens unto the realm into which it finds its Holy Spirit-directed sustenance in the Logos of God; that is in the heavens just above the earth. This is first seen in the reward of ripe faithfulness in the First-Fruits gathering of the living only, and then later extended to those living who endured the burning heat of the tribulation under the Beast. [Matthew 13:6,21, 24:24 with Revelation 14:9-13] These are then at last also gathered up into the heavens just above the earth, along with the faithful dead in the Harvest.
Whereas the vine of the earth/World, now fully corrupted in the blasphemous sap of the Anti-Christ and False Prophet, are fully ripened for the winepress of God’s Wrath upon the earth.
And the third vine is described for us in reading again Isaiah 5:1-7 with the Lord’s Words of Luke 13:35. (Note: Its rejection brought about the vine of John 15). In the Tribulation, its elect, in the fulfilling of the promises to their forefathers, are seen sealed from physical death in Revelation 7:1-8. And that unto sanctification, that is to say tribulation is: death to the carnal, and the perfecting of life to the spiritual. Then while Jacob’s Great Trouble is judgment on the ungodly, it is the ripening agent in the fitting for Christ’s earthly Millennial Kingdom. And these surviving Jews will be established again and finally realize the promises of God to His people. And along with these, are those realized in Isaiah 61:11 and Daniel 12:1-3, the final result being described in Isaiah chapter 62. “Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called….Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah.…” My delight is in her, and the land, and people that are now Married…. “….as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride (Christ over His Bride), so shall thy God rejoice over thee.”
Revelation chapter 7:9-17 is the same event in time as Revelation 15:1-4, but just another picture of it, that adds to our view, the last judgment vials. These are tools of the winepress, that now are to be poured out on His adversaries and enemies. These then shown, are to be the result of Revelation 14:14-16; and gives us the understanding of the reason of the great multitudes in the heavens, and their rejoicing, in the heavenly perspective of what is about to transpire now upon the earth. That Vintage gathering in preparation of Isaiah 63:1-5 is described in Revelation 16:13,14 &16 which has, in one view, the result and the purposes of satan. And in Zephaniah 3:8, which also clearly describes that assembly, is from this view, as the purpose of God.
(The terrible day is further seen in Isaiah 33:1-8.)
Revelation 14:20 declares that a river of blood 4 feet deep, and 160 miles will come from this destruction, “…up to the horse-bridle..” The term used as it is up to the heavenly hosts’ horse bridles, is understood from Revelation 19:14 that tread the winepress in the valley of Armageddon. And from Isaiah 63:1 and Revelation 16:16, it can be determined that the reference of 160 miles is that distance between Bozrah and Megiddo or Armageddon.
All Scripture relating to these days, and the final events, give different views or perspectives, depending upon which vine is being focused upon. Zechariah 14 describes the same event, but adds the cleaving of the Mount of Olives as He stands there upon, and the breaking forth of the living waters …. “that shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea… And the Lord shall be king over all the Earth…. And the land be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited…..And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.” Zechariah goes on to say after these amazing events that accompany the Vintage Reaping of the unrighteous: “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of Tabernacles.”
It should be well considered by students of the Word of God, that the end time prophetic events set before us, particularly in Revelation 14, are set before us in harmony with the typing or shadowings of the Mosaic Covenant. And in the order of the Feasts, strict and unalterable, and the significance of the First-Fruits“out of the earth” offering, (Exodus 23:19, 34:26, etc with Revelation 12:5 and 14:1-5 with Luke 21:36 & Revelation 3:10) those of the harvest first ripened, which therein perfectly shadows the first of two in-gatherings. The second being the main Harvest, (1Thessalonians 4:16,17, 1 Corinthians 15:51,52, Titus 2:13, with Revelation 14:14-16 &16:15 & 19:1-9) that of ripened grains, dead to the earth are also caught up by the Angels and gathered up into the heavenly storehouse. Then following is the Vintage reaping of luscious grapes. They are full of the life of the earth, and are gathered up on the earth by the angels/Angels, unto the winepress, ripe for the treading out under the Holy Feet of the Lord.
The very same scene set before us in Isaiah 63:1-6, is then the very purpose, which brings Jesus Christ down to the earth. All in all, these types and shadows and examples (1 Corinthians 10:6) are instrumental in determining the events, order and timing of the judgments and their conclusion. That is the exorcising of this World of its wicked power and establishing the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. And of the greater significance set before us in this; our moment of decision; do we make the choices of becoming dead to this World in the fullness of the heavenly call, (Please read and meditate without interruption the call expressed in Ephesians 1:4, 4:1-6:18.) and be a part of the worthies raised up into the future Kingdom of Christ as His Bride. Having been cleansed; (Ephesians 5:24-27 & Philippians 2:14-16) Priests without spot or blemish, that they then may be joined in marriage and together approach the Golden Altar. [Leviticus 22:19-25, 21:16-24, with Revelation 8:3, 12:5, and 19:1-9] Or will we choose to remain full of the life juices of this blemished World? (As set out as the very real possibility for born-again believers in 1Corinthians’ entire chapter 6, Galatians’ entire chapter 5, Ephesians’ entire chapter 6, and Hebrews’ entire chapter 6 and chapter 10) Will we choose to remain willfully entangled in its lusts and falsehoods and suffer the great loss of our promised priestly and kingly inheritance? [Revelation chapters 1:6, 5:9,10]
G.H. Lang: “Christians do cease to watch and do fail in supplications, they do stumble and do not always keep the word of Christ’s patience and it is neither true exegesis nor sound morally to console such with the assurance that they are equally certain to attain the position and privileges now in question as are those who, by the due use of the grace of God, walk in His fear.”
