GENESIS – BASIC UNDERSTANDINGS OF SCRIPTURE FOR TRUTH (PART 1)

VERSES: Genesis 1-3; Jeremiah 4:23-27; 2nd Peter 3:3-7; 1st Corinthians 15:22

The purpose of this lesson is to have a beginning/basic/foundational understanding of Scripture based on Truth-filled homiletics (the art of preaching or writing sermons). With a good understanding of Scripture as it relates to Kingdom understanding/Kingdom principles, we will be incentivized to be good servants, and be able to lead others in the right direction. Understanding the Word of God and renewing our minds to it is vital. In Christendom, what they’ve promoted as Tuth is a message of comfort and peace and unaccountability, that to them is “Truth,” but in reality, is deception. The more intimate we are with God and His Word, the less we are susceptible to the enemy or subject to wrong exegesis, misinterpretations, and deception. Jesus said the Truth will set us free. God’s Word speaks of the endless past, the present, and the endless future, but the purpose of all that God has shown us is to incentivize us make Christ preeminent in our lives, and to run the race victoriously, accomplishing what Christ meant when He told us to be an Overcomer. This is the focus of this ministry and of this lesson, which we will begin appropriately, in the Book of Genesis, since the foundational understanding for the whole Bible is built upon its truths.

Genesis 1:1 ‘The Spirit Realm’

In the beginning (a time unknown) God created the heavens… (according to Scripture, there are three – 2nd Corinthians 12:2) and the earth” (dry ground). God first created the Third Heaven where He then took up ‘residence’ with His creation. (God not needing a ‘place’ to reside, as He is omnipresent.) This first Heaven answers to His creating ‘spirits/angels’… who, like all His intelligent creatures, must have a place wherein they exist, serve, congregate, worship etc… That this place and the angels were made first is seen in that Scripture declares they were present when God created the other Heavens and the Earth. (Job 38:4-7… “Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; When the morning stars (Angels) sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”) Chronologically, He created this 3rd Heaven (this infrastructure in the spirit Realm), wherein He and His Angels are, before He created the 2nd heaven or the heaven associated with this Earth/material realm.

Genesis Verse 2a ‘the World/kosmos before’

And (begins a completely different/independent work) the earth was (in the Hebrew, became) without form and void (it had become that way; it was not created in the form it is discovered in here in this second verse… in a state of waste, desolation, confusion, emptiness, which is what the word in Hebrew for “without form” means), and darkness was on the face of the deep (where else in Scripture do we find such a description as darkness and flooding waters that was not a result of judgement? – See Genesis 6:8-8:22, which speaks of Noah’s flood, and Exodus 10:21-23… “And the Lord said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.” Jeremiah 4:23-27… “I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light. I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly. I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled. I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by his fierce anger. For thus hath the Lord said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.”) What the Church/Christendom has done is they’ve accepted the idea that God created the Earth in this state of chaos, as a part of the process of Creation, not that this was a result of a pre-Re-creation flood/judgement.

That Lucifer once ruled under God and rebelled is clear in Scripture. That he had dominion which included this Realm’s Heaven and Earth previous to its destruction is evident throughout Scripture itself, and through the Earth’s fossils and the testimony of the Book of Genesis of his past and current presence here. (Isaiah 14:12-14 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground (the ground that was here before the Re-creation), which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars (the other angels) of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” See again Jeremiah 4:23-26 and also Ezekiel 28:11-17, which gives us a description of the position Lucifer had before his fall/before being relegated to this Realm in a fallen state, as part of his judgement for his rebellion“Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus (God, in the Bible, uses this style of God addressing culpable beings with satan at the same time…), and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God (in the 3rd Heaven); thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.” And 2nd Peter 3:3-7 also adds a great deal of credence to that Pre-Adamic Age … “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was (the Pre-Adamic Earth’ /that World created in eternity past which ended in the ruin of Genesis 1:2a), being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the earth, which are now (the re-created current world), by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” Note that although there are many contrasts between the two floods, both acts of God judging the Earth were due to the rebellion of His intelligent beings.)

Genesis 1:2b-2:3Re-Creation’

Six literal days of 24-hour periods the Earth is brought back to its habitable state and re-inhabited… and its governmental dominion now given to Man/Adam and Eve. This was clearly seen a a threat to satan who once had authority and dominion over this Earth’s realm, and it explains his reasons for attempting to thwart God’s Plans by tempting Man in the Garden. Yet, satan was yet unaware that God’s intent before the foundation of this World, was that Christ, as the Son of Man, would rule in this Realm and seal his own fate.

Genesis 2:1-3 ‘God’s 7th Day Sabbath’

God now ceases from His re-creating works on the one hand but beginning His restoration works of all things on the other hand. God’s Salvation Plan is a complete work, understood from His Word, that includes both the pre-Adamic and post-Adamic Worlds. In the declared 7th 24-hour Day Sabbath of Re-creation, we have the first allusion to and understanding of what God was referring to when He says He ‘declaring the End from the Beginning’Isaiah 46:9-10, 2nd Peter 3:8.

Genesis 2:9; 15-17 ‘The place of trial in the life of a Christian’

An intelligent being, made in the image of God, who is so weak as to be unable to withstand a test is of little moral merit. And thereby falls short of the calling to Co-rule in God’s new theocratic government (ruling in the Name of God) then being implemented.

Genesis 1:27-28 with 2:8-25 speak of ‘The mystery of the Bride of Christ’

These are verses that have to do with Eve. Eve is the type for the Bride of Christ. Adam and Eve are a shadow of Christ (the Second Adam) ruling with a Bride. The Bride being made up of those redeemed who are judged worthy to rule in Christ’s Millennial Kingdom and having an inheritance alongside Him in the New Jerusalem in Eternity. His desire is to be wed to/have unity with a Bride. This idea runs all the way from Genesis 2 to Revelation 22. It should be every Christian’s desire to overcome the flesh, the world, and the devil to be a part of that ‘Bride’ (a Second Eve).

Genesis Chapter 3:1-8 ‘the Fall into Sin’

Genesis Chapter 3:9-19 ‘The Consequences of Man’s Sin’

Blessed fellowship now turns to ‘death’/separation from God. Dominion is lost.

Man is a triad being… spirit soul and body. We are a ‘living soul’ (Nephesh in the Hebrew), and we have a spirit and we are covered with a body. When Man was first in the Garden, he was spirit-led and controlled. Man’s spirit is wherein we have Intuitiveness, Conscience, and the ability to have Communion (intimate fellowship) with God. When Man fell in the Garden, his spirit didn’t die, but it became un-animated (lost its power). The ‘death’ that they experienced in the day they ate was the loss of the spirit animation and influence in the soul, and Man became subservient to the flesh (the ‘flesh’ being made up of the sensual body and the carnal mind)… and shame entered on its heels… followed by fear of God. When a person is born-again, the Spirit of God comes into his spirit and his spirit is re-animated, and the love of God is shed abroad in His heart. The redeemed person is to use their free will/volition to choose daily whether they are going to metaphorically, ‘eat of the Tree of Life.’ We will be strengthened to the degree that we renew our mind to the Word of God and become subservient to the spirit/Spirit.  If we are spirit/Spirit-controlled, we are changed unto Christlikeness.

All mankind is born of Adam and are then born into this Realm with the fallen sin nature. (See the law in Genesis that says everything produces after its own kind.)(Romans 5:14 says, “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.” 1st Corinthians 15:22 says,For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”) Adam’s sin is imputed to us, but when we are regenerated in the spirit, we are oborn from above into the Second Adam and are no longer of the first Adam, our forefather. So when we are born into this world, we are the seed of the first Adam and we are in a state of death/separation from God.

Genesis 3:15 ‘The First Gospel Promise’

Christ is foreshadowed as the promised “seed of the woman” in Genesis 3:15 as the One that would crush satan’s head. The enmity set forth by God is that between mankind and satan. Particularly in the first place with woman, in that through a woman, satan chose to cause the fall of Man… through the woman man fell through the deceit of satan, so satan will fall and ultimately be crushed by the ‘seed’ of a woman. This Word of promise has held up the coming of the Messiah to those of faith since that day 6000 years ago.

Genesis 3:21 ‘Propitiation principle for repentant condemned Mankind’

Leviticus 17:11 speaks of how blood will atone for sin. “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.” There are two Blood efficacies. The blood of an animal which atoned for sin and the Blood which Hebrews 9 speaks of that is of a much greater efficacy (Christ’s Blood) that would reach unto the ‘salvation of the soul.’)

Genesis 3:22-24 ‘The final realization of Man eating of the Tree of Life’

Had Adam and Eve eaten of the Tree of Life, they would have precluded/prevented Christ’s Blood Atonement unto Man attaining unto oneness glory. To eat of the Tree of Life was to live in the state you ate in; that of an imperishable body. This is why the Cherubim guarded the way back to the Tree of Life after their fall. It was then taken from this Earth, but we see the return of the Tree of Life when it re-appears again in Revelation 2:7; 22:14. Here, we find it to be a privileged prize for the Overcomers to eat of. These Overcomers who will rule with Him in His Millennial Sabbath and beyond have a worthiness far beyond mere redemption. It’s one thing to have redemption, but after that, the only true purpose that a man should have is making Christ preeminent and overcoming in being all that He has commanded him to be (that being found worthy of Brideship). Thats’ why we draw breath. All else is vanity, as Solomon say in Ecclesiastes. Living on this Earth, to a Christian, is a test of his worthiness to rule in His Coming Kingdom, after having been enlightened to God’s Word. The continued presence of satan in this Realm today answers to redeemed Man’s being tested and tried to find him capacitated through faithfulness unto the prize of the First Resurrection from among the dead in Hades at His Coming to Co-Rule with Him in His Kingdom as His Bride in God’s Theocratic Government realized in this Earth and its heaven.

Having been hypnotized by today’s version of Christianity, most Christians have a lack of understanding of these foundational Truths spoken of here and do not realize we are wrestling in on ongoing war for our own souls. (Ephesians Chapter 6 and 1st Peter 1:9… “Receiving the end (goal) of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”) The Christian opium of false teaching comforts the redeemed into presuming they’ll inherit all based on Christ’s righteousness. But this is contrary to the accountabilty seen in the Bible from Genesis to Revelation that God has put on Man. We cannot be asleep at the wheel and merely mentally ascent to these truths; we have to apply them. Let us remember that every servant is judged by his works, nevertheless, God is not expecting perfection. He wants us to engage in the war and to crucify the flesh. He says, ‘Let me perfect you; give me your heart. Draw nigh unto me and I’ll draw nigh unto you. Open your ‘will-gate’ and allow Me to work in your inner man to empower you to overcome.’
