Isaiah’s End-time Timeline Chapter 22

Antichrist, Satan, (Shebna) and the Lord (Eliakim) typed in Isaiah 22

WHEN WE LAST SPOKE IT WAS ON ISAIAH CHAPTER 21. “BABYLON IS FALLEN, IS FALLEN.…” THE TWO FALLINGS BEING REPRESENTATIVE OF THE TWO END TIME BABYLONS REVEALED IN REVELATION CHAPTERS 17 & 18. The first being the destruction of the City of Rome Italy, Mystic Babylon’s Harlot, with its ecclesiastical pagan roots that lead back to Babel found in chapter 17. End Time Rome is to Babel what End Time Jerusalem is to Sodom and Gomorrah. [Isaiah 3:9 & Revelation 11:8] And the 2nd “fallen” has in view the literal destruction of the ancient City of Babylon now restored. (future)

Mystic Babylon the Harlot, pictured as a Woman, is described as riding or having authority over the Last Days’ Beast who is the Anti-Christ. It is the Beast and his 10 confederated kings’ united hatred against the Woman that causes the first Babylon’s fall. The 2nd Babylon fallen is described in Revelation Chapter 18 and is the ancient City of Babylon rebuilt on the foundation of its sorceries and deceit of all nations. It shall be ravished by the enemies of the Anti-Christ first, and then be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all by God. Rome and Babylon, the only 2 cities that ravished and burnt Jerusalem, now receive double for her sins.

ISAIAH CHAPTER 22 BRINGS END TIME JERUSALEM INTO VIEW AS IT DESCRIBES THE WHOLE CITY OF JERUSALEM GONE UP ON THE HOUSETOPS TO SEE THE GREAT INVASION/SEIGE OF THE FORCES OF THE END TIME ANTI-CHRIST.

Isaiah Chapter 22 can be divided naturally into two parts: Verses 1-13 & then verses 14-25. The overall theme of the first part is the continual siege of God on Jacob’s seed, here again represented on Jerusalem, for their continued trusting in others or on other means besides the Lord of the Covenant. The 2nd part is God declaring the future doing away with the heart and system of the resulting corruption and establishing HIS SERVANT securely in sovereign authority with the Father’s heart to govern over them.

MYSTERY BABYLON HAS THE WORLD UNDER SEIGE

Babylon means confusion. Confusing those things distinctly of God, that should remain separate from the World. MYSTERY BABYLON has confused the Church and the World. It has expertly confused true worship and knowledge of God with paganism. She has successfully confused the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the Law of Moses. She has confused the Word as it relates to mercy and justice, the Heavens and Hades. She has confused the heavenly kingdom call with the earthly; the promises to the Church with the promises to the Jews. She has confused justification by faith with rewards by works. She has confused Christ our High Priest with her priests.

Mystery Babylon is the siege on mankind and the pools of water of the Lord that keep separate and distinct are near dry. The great defection is at hand, (Great Apostasy) the going into Captivity, the spiritual conclusion for all those who that do not let this siege work its purposes. They are those who say, “Let us eat and drink for tomorrow we die.” [Isaiah 22:13]

These are those who will join Shebna, who will be cast out into a vast place. That is to say in the captivity of Hades, where they will suffer the loss of offered deliverance due to their apathy and unbelief. Where “he” will suffer for his self-asserted glory, and will be mocked and ridiculed by all those of his own house. Compare Isaiah 14:10 with Jeremiah 20:1-6.

Isaiah 21:11 is an allusion to the rejection of the ongoing work of the early rain of the Holy Spirit. Scripture reveals this latter day rain work that they shall receive. In that coming day, the Jews shall look to their Maker and their Savior sorrowfully and receive the latter day rain. But there is also an allusion to those who have received of the early rain of the Holy Spirit. [Acts 2] We have received the work of the Holy Spirit in the New Covenant and have experienced the refreshing of His presence, the separating of renewed spirit from carnal soul. But when we forget our covenant purpose, and are brought into siege for test or trial or for our un-forsaken sins, that should to cause us to go to the well of our hope and deliverance in further trust. Too many are like unto the 5 foolish virgins, who thought what they had was enough. In a real spiritual sense, they have become confused and decided to eat, drink and enjoy the things of this life, instead of the distinct separation to which they were called, Confusion, set in by the Babylonianish idea that Christians are subject only to occasional attacks by satan for which they are well equipped to resist, and exempt from any disaster brought on by God Himself. Thereby, instead of the purposes for which God has called the siege upon us, we turn to the foolishness of the religious carnal reasoning of mind and sensual flesh and look for pleasure to help us forget our “troubles” and allow the waters from which we may drink and find victory under siege dry up.

Paul tacitly writes of the same attitude found in the New Covenant   Church as those under siege in Isaiah 22. In his letter to the Corinthians of chapter 15:32, he rebukes those who are confused by the idea of selective resurrection, or resurrection at all. “If after the manner of men I have fought with wild beasts…. what advantageth it me… (that is if Jesus Christ has done it all, why do I strive so hard against the flesh) …if the dead rise not? (Many have been confused; in “Babylon”. Believing that all Christians join Christ in Heaven at the time of their death. Thereby taking away hope and the power from living a holy life, separate and distinct unto God, that we might somehow attain by persistent faithfulness unto the FIRST RESURRECTION!) “Let us eat and drink; for tomorrow we die.” So this would be the natural consequence of thought for Christians under siege as it is Jews of this Chapter 22 of Isaiah.

LORD, as we come to your waters to drink, let us be filled with the understanding…. “The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Who knoweth the power of thine anger? Even according to they fear, so is thy wrath. SO teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” [Psalm 90:10-12]

“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God…” [Hebrews 10:31]

The very real question from the Spirit of God in Isaiah 22:16-19 is addressed to those who would understand the filling up of meaning of these Words. “What hast thou here? And whom hast thou here, that thou hast hewed thee out a sepulcher here, as he that heweth him out a sepulcher on high, and that graveth an habitation for himself in a rock?” This verse 16 and the accompanying ones are not well understood and it’s applied often in various ways historically to mean this specific someone who is not an Israelite but a foreigner. One who has usurped an important position in the priestly or governmental portion of the kingdom. And is presumptuous in his planning his glorious death after a sumptuous living on the backs of those he was pretending to be safe-guarding.

Taking this as it might be, and extrapolating it into End Time meanings, as God does throughout Isaiah and the prophets, then it is not far to apply these Scripture verses here to End Time Lucifer/satan (who was once put into the place of the “treasurer over the house of God”) and his future End Time usurper, Anti-Christ. We then apply the next verse to their predicted fates. “Behold, the Lord will carry thee away with a mighty captivity, and will surely cover thee.” Is this not but another reference to Lucifer’s fate of presumptuous pride declared in Isaiah 14:14? “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds….Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.” Where God addresses his pride, “….they that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms…..Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evil doers will never be renowned…..they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.” And again as satan in Revelation chapter 20:1 where we read, “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up….”

And is not Isaiah 22:15-19 also applicable to the Anti-Christ as well, seen in those verses found in Revelation 19:20. “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him…. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”

And do not the verses here afterwards address “Eliakim” in the faithful type of the One replacing Lucifer/satan, both in:

  1. the heavenly realm
  2. earthly realm

Now, can we not find amongst all the many Crowns of victorious Jesus Christ, that of Lucifer’s Crown? Once representative of royal robe, and governmental authority, who now will become the faithful “…father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. And the Key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.” [Revelation 3:7, Hebrews 3:1, Matthew 16:19]

SO THESE ANCIENT PERSONS AND EVENTS ARE BUT PARTIAL, INCOMPLETE FULFILLMENTS OF LAST DAYS’ PERSONS AND EVENTS IN PROPHETIC COMPLETION, REVEALED IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION.

The sequence of Isaiah 21 & 22 with Revelation 17 & 18 understanding.

Babylon fallen. This is Mystic Babylon found in the Harlot Rome’s destruction.

The Anti-Christ present and ruling over Israel.

The awakening of the populace in Jerusalem of their dire situation.

The overrunning of Jerusalem, and 3 ½ yrs of occupation.

Babylon’s literal destruction.

The Anti-Christ’s (Shebna’s) defeat and casting into the Lake of Fire. Along with satan’s binding and casting into the Bottomless Pit.

The establishing of Jesus Christ (Eliakim) in Millennial kingdom glory.

With the passing or falling of the 6th Head of the Beast “one is…”, THE HARLOT has been serving for near 1800 years in lieu of the Sword of Caesar. Until the 7th Head, that is to say, “…the other is not yet come.…” this one that may or may not be born yet, will come in the spirit of the imperial empire of ancient Rome/Babylon. Who then, “….when he cometh, he must continue a short space.” The meaning of the short space is: He lives but a short time in the inspired life, on whom the Harlot rode, and now in death by the sword or knife, (like John the Baptist, after he has prepared the way for him) “….the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven…” Can we be so bold to say: There are 7 bodies, and seven souls represented here but 8 lives.

And the Eighth is one of those who “was…” (As 8 is the day of resurrection, as the return of one that already was) He is the Beast, THE LAST Imperial Ruler of Rome/Babylon, now raised from the dead among those in the Bottomless Pit, satanically empowered. Whom the 10 amazed kings, now are worshiping, willingly and eagerly give their authority up unto him. They then, who never drank of the Roman-ish Cup, quickly together mastermind the destruction of Mystic Babylon.

(One Emperor burnt Rome. Will the offense of this Harlot and its edifice standing in the middle of it, cause him to burn her again?)

He kills the Two Witnesses, Enoch and Elijah, who came to finish their work. So he comes to finish his. And begins his reign of terror in Israel (Isaiah 21:9 with Isaiah 22:1-14) “We have no king but Caesar,” they declared. And so in the End Time, and indignation judgment; they will have the imperial satanically cruel King ruler over them over the next 3 ½ years. That will bring us chronologically to his destruction (Isaiah 22:17-19) and the end of the times of the Gentiles, with Jesus Christ’s Return and Millennial Kingdom.

We know from Scripture God often speaks Words that speak to different individuals at the same time. As He spoke to the demise of the king of Babylon, He also speaks to Lucifer in Isaiah 14. And as He speaks unto the prince of Tyre, at the same time He addresses Lucifer/satan in Ezekiel 28. So He does here in Isaiah 22 to Shebna/Anti-Christ. But in the fullness He speaks to Lucifer/satan. As it relates to his sepulcher, his high habitation for his self in a rock…. “Behold the Lord will carry thee away with a mighty captivity…. He will surely violently turn and toss thee like a ball….. And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he pull thee down.” What is in view here is those words and events of Revelation that gives us the greater detail, that is left out in these words of Isaiah. Briefly setting the sequential scene before us as He opens the seals related to End Time Judgments is first, the violent casting out of satan to begin the events we are looking at in Isaiah. Which are chronologically from the middle of the Tribulation, or (Jeremiah 30) Jacob’s trouble. To the end of the indignation, a period of 3 ½ years that begins with an event recorded in detail in Revelation 12. “And there was war in heaven…. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth…..” This is not Jesus coming unto the earth, but to the air or first heaven above and associated with this earth. This is what just preceded Isaiah 22:1. It is what Jesus had in view when He saw satan cast down like lightning from the sky. It is what He had in view prophetically warning when He said, “let him which is on the housetop not come down to take anything out of his house..” [Matthew 24:17] It is just here that the Anti-Christ from the Bottomless pit will come forth, and will gravely pursue and persecute faithful Jews and remaining Christians.

There are yet 3½ years before then the complete prophetic Word of Isaiah 22:25 is fulfilled: “In that day, saith the Lord of hosts shall the nail that is fastened in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall: and the burden that was upon it shall be cut off: for the Lord hath spoken it.”

With Revelation 19:20,20:1-3 “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet…. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire…. And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the…. Devil, and Satan…. And cast him into the bottomless pit and shut him up, and set a seal upon him….”
