ISAIAH’S END-TIME TIMELINE

ISAIAH Chapters 9-10
ONE KINGDOM, TWO REMNANTS, THREE HOUSES

As we have noted before, here are three great subjects of prophecy found in these chapters: 7-12 of Isaiah.

  1. The punishment of Judah for their hypocritical reliance upon the Assyrians.
  2. The deliverance of Judah from the hands of the confederacy of Israel and Syria and their punishment and fate.
  3. The future Millennial reign of the Messiah. (For whose sake the kingdom is spared and preserved.)

The words of Isaiah seem to speak to the past and present sins of Israel. But when one looks closer, we see:

God having thought of a deeper iniquity, yet future. That is when Jacob’s People will receive one who comes in His own name after the Messiah has been rejected. And when the House of Jacob will enter into covenant with the anti-Messiah, resulting in that awful end time idolatry. It is into this place of God’s Heart and Mind the ancient prophets had been exposed. Into the end time Mind and Heart of God. Remember that Isaiah and Daniel were taken supernaturally and given skill and understanding.

What Isaiah expresses and prophesies of is exactly what Daniel and other Old Covenant prophets prophesy of. That is of these 3 great subjects with their variations. Within much of the words of Isaiah are found the same events of Daniel’s 70 weeks of years time-line (490 years) to be fulfilled before restoration. [Daniel 9:24] All but that which relates to the last generation of living Jews (in this suspended time between the 69th and 70th week, the Age of Grace and Mercy, wherein He calls another people Acts15:14, until its fullness Israel will remain in darkness.) One week of 7 years, the period of the covenant of “the prince that shall come” will run their course. That is, the final events leading to the Messiah and finally the restoration of Israel. That which is in harmony in the Old Covenant prophets is also in harmony with the New Covenant prophets and fully exposed within the Book of Revelation.

There are many references to the Messiah’s Coming. And clear allusions to there being two. (Although but one only is received by the Jew) One coming as the suffering Messiah and another as the conquering Messiah. Isaiah mixes in the Comings from one verse to another. For example, chapter 9, verses 1-2 are references to His First Coming. Then Isaiah speaks of His Second Coming in verses 3,4 & 5. Then turning to His First Coming again in verse 6, while referring to His Second Coming again in the 7th verse. Again in chapter 10, verses 33-34 speak of His Second Coming, whereas the next 3 verses speak primarily to His First Coming. Then in verses 4 & 5, His Second Coming. Verse 6 and the rest of Chapter 11 and all of Chapter 12 describes the restoration of Israel and the earthly Millennial kingdom.

TWO REMNANTS – THREE HOUSES (DISCERNING THE HOUSES and THE FUTURE KINGDOM FROM THE SEED OF DAVID)

Isaiah 10:20,21 speaks of one remnant out of the 2 Houses of Jacob: Israel and Judah. This remnant that shall remain is the spared Jewish contingent after the final judgments of the Lord Jesus Christ revealed here in Isaiah. Also seen in the last chapters of Ezekiel and last 3 chapters of Zechariah, enumerated and expounded in the Book of Revelation. These survivors will be gathered from all over the earth, back into their inheritance, the restored earthly Nation, the 2 Houses of Israel/Jacob.

There is another remnant called the remnant according to the election of grace, which are those of the two Houses of Jacob who in this Age of grace and mercy, receive Jesus Christ as their Redeemer. [Romans 11:5] Who then, in Christ, form no separate body, as both Gentile and Jew are one. Essentially then a third House of THE TRUE “Israel” and partakers of the heavenly calling. [Hebrews 3:1; Ephesians 2:6] The House or heavenly Body of Hebrews 11:16 with Ephesians 2:14-22.

2nd SAMUEL 7:12,13
1 KINGS 9:1-7
ZECHARIAH 12:9-13

There was then the cutting off of David’s wicked progeny from the throne, but not the rightful promise SEED to that throne. The fulfillment of Jacob’s prophetic words “…until Shiloh come…” Genesis 49:10. Daniel’s words of until he is cut off. [Daniel 8:23,-25 & 9:24-26,27]

As Saul rent the garment of Samuel and it was decreed by the Prophet that this day the Kingdom was rent from him and given to “…a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.” To David, one more worthy of the kingdom,…The Spirit has in view the SEED of Abraham (Galatians 3:16; Genesis 12:7, 13:15) by David’s progeny, the Messiah, Shiloh, King Jesus Christ “And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots”. [Isaiah 11:1 with 2 Samuel 17:12,13 with Revelation 22:16 5:5] So as the son of David, Solomon, and his great apostasy, foreshadowed the heart and apostasy of the leadership of all the Tribes’ prevalent and progressive wickedness at the first Coming of the Lord. And having been angry, God spoke on this wise to Solomon: “Forasmuch as this is done of thee, …..I will surely rend the kingdom from thee, and will give it to thy servant…..Howbeit I will not rend away all the kingdom; but will give one tribe to thy son for David My servant’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake which I have chosen.” [1 Kings 11]

Having greater things in view, God called Isaiah to the ministry of fattening the hearts of all the house of Jacob. So it was spoke in answer to these two foreshadowed truths, by the Prophet Jesus:

1.) “And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which saith, by hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand: and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: For this peoples heart is waxed gross…”. In them was fulfilled or filled up the ministry of Isaiah and in their hardened state, blasphemed the Holy Spirit and rejected their Messiah. Thus followed, as in the precedents before, Christ’s sure judgment Words:

“…the kingdom of God shall be taken form you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.” [Matthew 21:43] That Nation not then being Israel, nor it be a Gentile nation, but the new “Nation of the New Man”. [Ephesians 2]

To whom is the Lord speaking to but all the rebellious children of the “ISRAEL”. Who were like Judah and Israel of old in Isaiah’s day when he began his ministry and message leading them into darkness and hardness of heart, that cup of indignation having reached its full in this generation, having blasphemed the Holy Spirit. So it was Jesus began to speak to them in parables and when the subjects of the new Nation, His Disciples, asked Him, “Why?”, He thus spoke. He said: “Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heavens, but to them it is not given.” It was from the vineyard of the kingdom of the heavens that they were excluded. [See parable in Luke 20:13-16] It was not an exclusion from the future sure promises of the earthly kingdom of peace and full restoration of all the Tribes of Jacob in the Millennium reign of the Messiah.

But Paul in the Spirit of the calling of Isaiah thus warns of the fattening of the heart message in the third House of Israel, the Church, the Body of Christ. “Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high minded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.”

THE GREAT END TIME CONSUMPTION DECLARED BY GOD

in Isaiah 10:22,23: “For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness. For the Lord God of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.”

That verse and Daniel 9:27 coincide. “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the causer of the desolation.” (Tregelles)

As they both coincide with Christ’s prophetic end time Words of Matthew 24:15. “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) then let them which be in Judaea flee…… V 29,30 Immediately after the tribulation of those days …..and they shall see the Son of man coming.”

Isaiah Chapter 10:27 “…For thous hast broke the yoke of his burden…” The great light of the last chapter (Isaiah 9:2) points chronologically first to Jesus the Messiah, who acted then as the great deliverer of the Galileans, as the first converts to Christianity, confirmed in Matthew 4:15,16; Luke 1:79.

But additionally, the great light and breaking of yoke has different connotations past, present and future:

  1. Deliverance from darkness into the great light and the breaking of the yoke relates to the breaking of the yoke of satan. In which the supernatural deliverance of the Galileans was typed by the Spirit historically in the Midian battle and supernatural deliverance through the breaking of the jars and revealing of the LIGHT. [Judges 7:22] That which the Spirit through Isaiah now has in view. “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son…” Whose yoke is easy and light. [Matthew 11:29,30] That is in contrast with the heavy yoke of the inescapable weight and power of sin. Which much of its power is derived from the Law of Moses. So additionally delivered from the yoke of the Law of Moses. [Galatians 3:10 with 5:1] “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”
  2. The yoke and darkness historically and in the future Assyrian alliance seen in Daniel and the Book of Revelation.
  3. Historically ancient Babylon and in the future end time Babylon seen throughout Scripture, expounded in the Book of Revelation.
  4. And in the future, deliverance from Rome the end time Harlot seen in the Book of Revelation.
  5. The Anti-Christ in the future Day of the Lord at the end of the Tribulation as seen in Isaiah 10:5 with 14:25, Micah 5:6, and expounded in the Book of Revelation.
