Isaiah’s End-time Timeline Chapters 34-35

THE UNSEEN WORLD | JUDGEMENT OF THE UNSEEN POWERS OF THE HEAVENS

Ephesians 6:12, Revelation 6:12-14, 18:2, Hebrews 12:26-27

ISAIAH 34 & 35 WITHIN THE PROPHECIES OF THESE TWO RELATED CHAPTERS ARE ILLUSIONS OF THE CONDITIONS, BEFORE (currently) AND AFTER THE DAY OF THE LORD’S VENGEANCE/ THE GREAT DAY OF SLAUGHTER. NOT JUST LIMITED TO THE EARTH, BUT IN THE KINGDOM OF THE FIRST HEAVEN JUST ABOVE, IN THE FIRST STAGES OF THE DAY OF THE VENGEANCE JUST BEFORE THE SLAUGHTER AND REDEMPTION UPON THE EARTH, AND THE ESTABLISHING OF THE EARTHLY MILLENNIAL KINGDOM OF JESUS CHRIST.

The Creation and RE-Creation Gardens of God have for millennium been occupied and subjected to the perverse, rebellious, fallen, unclean usurper forces of the unseen spirits. “And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain (“and having led him up codex sinaiticus), shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said unto him, All this power will I will give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.”

Now the appointed time of God’s vengeance promises both a great slaughter in the removal of these defiling forces from the heavens and from the earth, bringing glory and great relief to God’s Creation. “Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” This “vengeance and slaughter” transcends the physical earth. As previous to its deliverance and relief, comes a heaven’s vengeance and slaughter and joy and rejoicing following that freedom.

The first verse of chapter 34 tells us who this prophecy concerns: All nations on the earth, the whole world, and all things that come forth in it. It is yet future, as nothing like what is here described has ever come to pass. We don’t really have to wonder very long about the time to which these prophecies speak. There is much Scripture confirming in the clear future, predictions of the time when God will gather all the nations to “…the great slaughter, when the towers fall” [Isaiah 30:25] When all the nations shall mourn… [Matthew 24:30]

The Great Wine Press of God [Revelation 14:17-20] “…and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles….” See the very parallel verses here before us in Isaiah 34:5-8. “…their land will be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.” For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion.” Compare Isaiah 34:4 (“And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a a scroll, and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.”) with the Lord’s revealing Words of Matthew 24:29, descriptive of the times just before His Return. (“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken…”) It is clear that the time of which Isaiah speaks of is the end of the Tribulation period; the last days just before Jesus Christ Returns.

Additionally, John in the book of Revelation, describes that same future point in time with the very same words. “And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig-tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as scroll when it rolled together.” [Revelation 6:12-14]

It is common for commentators to limit these signs to mean just the convulsions among the nations and peoples of the earth at this future time. But there is no reason not to take them to their further intended typical and often literal conclusions. Hebrews 12:26… “ Whose voice then shook the earth….” (The Church’s attention is drawn to that terrifying, historically recorded event in Scripture; that literal shaking of the earth in the visitation of God at Mt. Sinai. And there also the literal sun being darkened, and moon not giving her light) Matthew 24:19 describes a future like scene. That event here in Hebrews 12:26 is compared to that literal happening at Mt. Sinai. But the Spirit adds the more encompassing end time judgment upon the celestial realm in the day of vengeance. “Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.”

But what is meant in the Lord’s additional Words of Matthew 24:19? “AND the powers of the heavens shall be shaken….” Hebrews 12:27 alludes to the shaking of those unseen powers of the heavens in that “….Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things (The spiritual powers of the heavens associated with this earth, that had not previously been shaken in His earthly realm visitation. As they will surely be shaken and fall out of the heavens in this, His great last days’ visitation and appointed Wrath of God. This shaking extends beyond those things.) … as of things that are made… (Beyond His creation. That is to say, not just the inanimate material bodies, but the more ancient living designers and all the World-controlling kingdom in the unseen first heaven, Certainly inhabited, if not constructed, by satan, “….the god of this World” and “prince of the power of the air.”) …..that those things (the Millennial adjoining unseen first heavens Kingdom of Jesus Christ) which cannot be shaken may remain.”

We should see in Scripture that these end time shakings have very much in priority the spiritual world powers in view. And see that at that time specific. They are not at all limited to the material World, as observed in the book of Revelation in Chapter 9 Verse 1, and Revelation Chapter 12 Verses 7-9.

Edom or Esau in these verses is a typical term used here to include all the enemies of God. Not just Rome as it relates to Israel’s earthy Zion. Not just Mystery Babylon as it relates to all mankind. But all enemies from Creation are judged, displaced from their ancient oppressive places of authority. And they are cast, or later to be cast, into that typed place of judgment seen portrayed here in Isaiah 34:8-17. A place with fiery burning pitch, and unquenching brimstone, with its smoke rising for ever. Or again depicted in the fiery destruction of the end time City of Babylon. That very material sign of the great event of Christ’s Coming has now finally arrived. (See Revelation chapters 18 &19.) Which in the antitype, this City depicts also that place wherein some will be cast at that time. “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen and has become the habitation of devils, become the hold of every foul spirit.”

That is to further say; in the displacing of the powers, “He cast out the heathen (demons and angels in both realms) also before them, and divided them (both the remnant of Israel upon the earth and the Overcoming Worthies of Christendom in the first heavens’ sphere) an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.” [Psalms 78:55 with Revelation 20:1-6] So in the displacing place that was created for Lucifer and his followers, (into which some of His enemies shall be cast immediately in these end time judgments) are both humans and spirits, in the material and unseen spheres. And as the judgments of displacing of Isaiah 34 encompass all His enemies, so the blessed blossoming abundance with rejoicing joy and singing. The inheritance of their usurping enemies’ places and promises of Isaiah 35 extend to Jacob and all His beloved, both humans and spirits in both realms. Which will be in this the time of the Glory of the Lord and His Kingdom. The two chapters before us are summed up in Revelation 19:1-3.

The allusion of EDOM / or Esau takes us naturally to the conflict in the womb of Rebecca and at least back to Cain and Abel. And very likely speaks to the pre-material and post-Creation mystery of the ancient relation of Son of God/Son of Man with that son of God/the Angel Lucifer/satan and the son of perdition the anti-Christ. (But leaving that discussion for another day, let’s continue.)

The culminating wrestling between the two Sons/sons of God in both Creations’ realms now transpire, as here predicted in Isaiah and further explained by Jesus in Matthew 24:29. Seen in Revelation 12, “…and there was war in heaven (the first heaven associated with this World)…and the Devil….was cast out (of the 1^st heaven) into the earth.” This “slaughter”, this day of vengeance, begins in the heavens above. And the casting out of this time, only extends to earth. Where the eternal change of ruling and reigning authority is now to commence, in the unseen part of the World is this first established. The casting out of demons by the Name and Spirit of Jesus, in large had this day in view. Not from a single individual, but satan and all his hosts from his usurped position in the heavens.

And that in the bringing forth of the Man-Child, the seed of woman is to bruise the serpent’s head. It is then and there the full redemption and renovated beauty first occurs. The first rendering to man according to his work. The first real opening of the eyes of the blind, and the deaf hearing. The first smell of the blossoming rose, and the freedom from all death, disease and all disorder. Where they await now for their further “HARVEST brethren”, who together will soon join the Lord in His Return. And battle upon the earth, in the continuation of the great slaughter and day of His vengeance.

THE FIRST-FRUITS THEN BEING THE CATALYST FOR THE “….powers of the heavens…” being shaken. (The man-child Revelation 12 with Revelation 14 with Leviticus 23:10,17) And they overcame him… “…for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” (As but servers only of time… but their lives testify differently…they then overcome satan; at the very least judicially when? At the catching up. Where? To and at the judgment throne now set up in the heavens associated with this World. [Revelation 4:2] How? “….by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony: and they loved not their lives unto the death.” The resulting intent (from the beginning of the World, hid in God…who created all things by Jesus Christ) that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.” [Ephesians 3:1-12] That purposeful intent of God is now fully realized through the now determined and declared successful wrestling of a Christian against “principalities and powers….wicked spirits in high places…” the rulers of the unseen World. [Ephesians 6:12]

(While the blood of Abel accuses Cain, there is constantly the Accuser of Abel. Who cannot be finally cast out of the Courtroom, until faithful, {but agreed upon, not faultless} Abel’s testimony of the Blood of his Sacrifice.(The Judge allowing then Overcomers’ testimony only to own it as their own.) And in the First-Fruit’s testimony, and in that Blood of the Lamb, is also the further triumphant spoiling and show over the principalities and powers in the heavens. [Colossians 2:15] And in that first establishing of “….those things which cannot be shaken…” in that unseen Millennial Kingdom tabernacling of that realm.

In the heavens is rejoicing, but Woe unto Earth, as now the stars not only figuratively have fallen but literally, those fallen angels for which they stood. It is the Woe of Israel, the great troubling and destruction following. For he has been cast down upon them. And having had both willing agents in the heavens and earth, they are pursued. Sihon and Og go forth now to battle in order to prevent the entrance of the remainder of the seed of the Woman, the people of God, in entering into the heritage of God for them.
