Lets go back a few verses from the beginning of our Torah portion.
Deuteronomy 11:22 “For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him; 23 Then will the Lord drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves. 24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be. 25 There shall no man (principality, power, ruler or wicked spirit) be able to stand before you: for the Lord your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.”
(Now From The Torah Portion ‘see/raah’)
VS 26 Behold (SEE/raah), I set before you this day a blessing and a curse (abasement); A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: And a curse (abasement), if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God….
AGAIN “See (raah),” proceeds and proclaims the similar message in Deuteronomy 30:15, “See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless (impart something to you) thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it (in that first heavenly realm). But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; I pronounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it. I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
“See I have set before you a blessing and a curse… I have set before you life and goodness, and death and evil… therefore choose life.”
The NEW COVENANT APPLICATION… CHOICE VS CHOOSING
There is overwhelming proof in Scripture that no believer will enter and dwell in The Promised Land (The Kingdom of Christ) simply on the ground, and merely for the reason, that he is a redeemed child of God.
CHRIST’S CHOICE AND CHOOSING… REWARD
His Exaltation fits exactly His choosing humiliation… so the principle is made applicable to him who would be His follower. Phil 2:5:11 with Romans 8:16-19 Matt 19:29, Luke 19:17.
That motive of Mind that moved our Lord is to be ours also, “Let us also lay aside every weight, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus (our pattern, our model) who FOR THE JOY THAT WAS SET BEFORE HIM endured the cross, despising shame.” Hebrews 12: 1
The Inheritance is the Joy set before us… and is not to be assumed to be apart of redemption’s “reward”,… as is thought and taught by most Christendom, and thus is very near a certain disqualification… Why? Because the condition (choosing) on which the BLESSING is conferred has been ignored.
“See I have set before you a blessing and a curse…I have set before you life and goodness, and death and evil… therefore choose life.”
Christendom speaks and teaches obtaining the fullness of “salvation” in terms of “there is none righteous, no, not one…” Thus all is by Grace… God’s Gift… but their willful blindness has obscured the Truth of Scriptures in that this Gift of Grace is limited to Justification… the choice. Wherein CHOOSING righteousness brings in to view a whole new dynamic of “Salvation” in which employed is the empowering by The Spirit… with works of faithfulness and fruitfulness with Great Reward.
