DEAD TO THE LAW….. OR SPIRITUAL POLYGAMY

Understanding the critical importance of maintaining our born-again spirit in union with Christ by the agency of the Holy Spirit.

“The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.” (Proverbs 20) This is the basis for the Law of the spirit of life that has set me free from the Law (of Moses) of sin and death. This is the NC law of a conscience led by the spirit/Spirit. (Rom 8)

“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.” (Gal 3:24,25)
Having become acquainted with the Law, and having been condemned under it, as all fallen and unregenerate men are, and then having been confronted with the necessity of a redeeming sacrifice from the curse of the Law, so that one as a Gentile might receive the blessing of Abraham, we find redemption through Jesus Christ;  “…..that we might receive the promise of the (s)Spirit (pneuma) through faith.” (Gal 3:14)

The spirit of man, having been brought to Christ by the yielded will to the LAW of Moses, then to obey it, to do it….. was an impossible marriage. Although the Husband (the Law of Moses) was good and holy, the carnal soul of man was no fit companion, and was always contrary to her Husband, disobedient and always falling short of His righteous demands. She found herself burdened and bound as she yet liveth unto Him, and therefore the consequence being united to Him….as He demands “as the soul that sinneth it shall die…. the wages of sin is death.”

“So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another….. she shall be called an adulteress…. but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man. Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.”

Now having died and being buried to the Law, she is free to marry another. It remains forever, the Law never dies. Its power and commands forever continue…. how else would God judge the World? But now she is dead to the Laws of the earthly type, the holy writ powerless now against the dead corpse. Now Christ, having also suffered death under the Law, was then in that death united to her death, now free from the marriage of the Law forever. “Are you ignorant that all who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death.” We were buried therefore with Him through baptism into His death. (Rom 3)

Now Baptism is our ritual answering to the Law’s circumcision. It shows the legal marriage to another. Baptism is the funeral rite over one dead to the Law, their divorce to the Law and marriage to another. Now united to Christ in death, “I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: (by the spirit/Spirit) and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God, for if righteousness come by the Law, then Christ is dead in vain.” (Gal 2:20,21)

MARRIAGE TO ANOTHER, BUT NOT WITHOUT LAW

(Gal 2:19) “For I through the law  am dead to the law (speaks to the means by which I came to Christ), that I might live unto God.”
“…(being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,)…” (1Cor 9:21; Matt 17:5)

RE-MARRIAGE WITH A DIVORCED HUSBAND …..THE LAW ITSELF FORBIDS (Deut 24)

“I have espoused you to one husband” (Col 2:12) “…husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it…..that he might sanctify and cleanse it…. with the washing of water by the word….. (vs32) This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” (Eph 5:25-32 with Rom 7:4) We are raised up together in “newness of life”…(Rom 6:4) a spirit once espoused to the Law…. Now “…in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.” (Rom 7:4)

Now if we are interpreting the Word of the Spirit correctly, marriage to God through the Law is good and holy and it, by faith and conscience (“For I delight in the Law of God after the inward man…..” Romans 7:22) consummated, brings eternal life. That is to say, an enlivened spirit following, now united or married to God through faith in Him, not the law by which he came unto Him, but by leaving that obedient faith, by which His shall only live, he makes himself again under the dominion of the Law and subject to its every demand… “For as many as are of the works of the Law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in ALL the things which are written in the book of the law to do them” (Gal 3:10).

There was as example of obedient faith outside the Law, that of the future calling Christ…. that was in Abraham…. who heard the Gospel, “…in thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” (Gal 3:5-9) “Abraham believed God….” and was enlivened in spirit whereby in faith he, by the words of God, endeavored to walk. Thus he was united/married to God and was imputed righteousness without “works”. That is to say a list of do’s and don’ts, whereby he would look in order to justify himself before God.
Married to God, followed God in enlivened spirit not “under” the Law, but under the Covenant of faith with obedience. His seed then also being delivered out from bondage through the blood Covenant and married unto God, later abandoning their marriage vows of faith in good conscience, gave themselves over rather to the keeping of it for their justification. (Rom 10:3) Now being married unto God, the “keeping of the Law” for their justification and relationship became an adulterous affair.
Thus, follow those warning words of NC by Paul (Gal 2:14-3:3) …..being therein warned that having once been kept under the law until through faith being united to Christ, to turn to the keeping of the Law of Moses is to be in danger of Christ becoming of “no effect unto you…. ye have given up Grace.” (Gal 5:4)

The salvation of the soul is dependent on the spirit following closely and only after Christ. Although the spirit remains enlivened, it loses its connection to the overcoming life force, the gift of the power of the Holy Spirit, the NC bonding agent, into the holy likeness of Christ. Faithful and fruitful to God is contingent in spirit to Spirit…. the exclusive gift of the NC for fellowship and worthiness as a Bride who has made herself ready for holy matrimony, and that through “newness of Life”, that leads to a Resurrection Life as His Bride.
“For I through law died unto law, that I might LIVE unto God. I have been crucified with Christ, yet I live; and yet no longer I, but Christ liveth in me.”
It is only as I remain in faithful union with Jesus in spirit/Spirit, that His righteousness may be worked out in me. (Phil 3:9) Read Romans 8:9,10; 1 Cor 14:2,4; Jude 20. We are married in the spirit by the Holy Spirit, that is to say by a vital union being kept and guarded, that by it, we may overcome the flesh.
