PROPHECY THREADED THROUGHOUT SCRIPTURE

A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF ALL UNFULFILLED PROPHECY SEEN IN OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS. THE MAIN SUBJECT BEING THE END TIMES, THE SECOND COMING, AND MILLENNIAL KINGDOM.

At the time of the birth of the Messiah Jesus, the Nation of Israel was under the bondage of Rome, who was then the great Gentile Beast Nation ruling in the earth. (This is alluded to in the Book of Daniel.) But the authority that was to-be, God had still reserved in the earth. After Adam and Eve, God determined that this authority would be His Covenant Nation and people, Israel and it was to be through faithfulness. He reserved His right to have authority through Israel, and in the future, He yet will. However, that authority was suspended and granted to the Gentiles in response to the Israelites persistence in unbelief. This transfer of authority began with that Gentile King Nebuchadnezzar and Babylon was the nation which God used to chastise His covenant nation Israel. (This is to be expounded on in a later chapter of this book). This transference down starts with Nebuchadnezzar and continues until the Times of the Gentilesis complete.  So Israel, being ruled or controlled by Gentile Rulers, anxiously awaited the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Prophets of Israel which were replete with references to the promised restoration of their Nation. The Nation of Israel was looking for the promised Messiah to bring Israel into that preeminent Kingdom over the Gentile Nations of the Earth.

No prophet or prophecy, since Malachi, had been recorded for 400 years, until the Birth of Jesus. The Angel Gabriel, when speaking to Mary of her Child to be born, purposely tied the Old Testament prophets and prophecy to Jesus by saying, .the Lord God shall give unto Him the throne of His father David: and He shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of His kingdom there shall be no end. [Luke 1:3233] The Prophetic Words from Mary, Zachariah, Simeon, and Anna all speak of a literal Old Testamentlike fulfillment. The prophetic words directed the mind of Israel towards the literal fulfillment of the Scriptures of Gods Covenant promises with Abraham, King David, Jerusalem, and the Nation Israel.

The fact that there are tremendous additional purposes that God has marvelously accomplished in Jesus Christ, brought out in the New Testament, (which we later intend to bring into full view in this book) does not take away one bit from the sure prophetic fulfillment of Israels literal restoration. And Israel’s transference back of that lost authority in the earth from the Gentiles will be realized in their Kingdom coming. They will be a nation of kings and priests and a light to the nations, as prophesied.

The intent of this chapter is to further the understanding of the Scriptural Prophetic connection of the Old Testament with the New Testament. Both focus on the End Times, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and the establishment of His Kingdom. This Kingdom will be in both a earthly and a heavenly estate. (And that without erroneously spiritualizing the Nation of Israel into the Churchwhich is a concept contrary to Scripture in that we New Testament believers are brought into the Kingdom and its promises as fellowcitizens in Christ Jesus. See Ephesians 2 and Romans 11.) Although this heavenly state is purposely obscured and not revealed in the Old Testament, it is clear that the Holy Spirit had that monumental end time event of the Return of Christ in mind once the seeking heart compares, and marvelously comprehends this in the light of New Testament End Time prophesies.

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. [Revelation 19:10] That is say in the joint testimony of both the Angels and men; the true witnesses of Jesus Christ together, are His fellow servants (Hebrews 1:13,14) in the great theme of Prophecy; Jesus Christ, as to Who He was, is and will be. And His past and present and future acts are recorded in Scripture and revealed by God to His servants.

The testimony/witness of Jesus is that He is the answer to all doctrine of prophecy; the essence being substitution. Substitution is the testimony of both the Old and New Testaments. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed…” What is written in the 52nd & 53rd Chapters of Isaiah is Gods guaranteed substitutional answer to Israels promised earthly calling, in spite of their past or current woeful state.

This Old is expanded in the New Testament substitutional offering of Jesus Christ in the heavens associated with this earth as seen, among other places in Hebrews 1 & 2 and answers to Isaiah 52 & 53. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.…” [Hebrews 2:9-10, 2:18, 3:1]

John is told Write…” throughout the Book of Revelation (as was often the directive throughout Scripture) and he recorded Christs Words: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. [Revelation 22:13] That He is the Alpha and the Omega, relates to Him being the beginning and the ending of Prophecy (albeit there appears to be many twists and turns in the Scriptures, yet there is but one Designer throughout). The end of prophecy is when all Gods revealed Written Words from Genesis through the Book of Christs Revelation have been filled with their ultimate meaning, or when they come to pass. That being the meaning of I am the Omega (End); which is the restoration of all things, in the New heavens and New earth. Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, (Torah, Psalms or Prophets) till all be fulfilled (filled with meaning). [Matthew 5:18]

The Creator of the first World now Creates the Second. For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. [Isaiah 65:17] Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall (be useless) fail…” That is to say that in the new earth and heavens, we will no longer “….see through a glass darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. [1 Corinthians 13:8b,12]

But we are now instructed, by the Father, This is my beloved Son: hear him. That is to say see prophecy in this revealed light of Jesus Christ, THE GREAT PROPHET. The word prophetwas used possibly the first time in connection with Abraham “…for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee…” [Genesis 20:7] The meaning of the word prophetis one who speaks for God. (Exodus 4:16) Moses being the most excellent example in the Old Covenant, being likened unto the Messiah Who was to come raised up. See Deuteronomy 18:15-19 which says, The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; According to all that thou desiredst of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again — the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see — this great fire any more, that I die not. And the Lord said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them — all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

The accepting and the rejecting of the Messiah being the crux of Gods accepting or rejecting the Nation of Israel; thus their scattering was/is a consequence of their rejection of Him. But when they accept Him, they will be regathered, and never be uprooted again. This being realized, the Millennium of their regathering and ruling in the earth begins.

The Old Covenant prophetic Scriptures of the Kingdom of the Messiah have in view the restoration of the Nation of Israel after their present Babylonianor Wild Beastscaptivity. The wild beasts being an apt description of the Gentile Kingdoms/Nations of this World, growing progressively worse in nature and end time dominance which is described in Daniels Dream. [Daniel 7] The prophetic Word to Israel was the loss of Godgiven authority in the World and its sure future recovery, which is the main subject of the Old Covenant prophets. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel being a few examples.

“THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD ARE BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR LORD AND OF HIS CHRIST, AND HE SHALL REIGN FOR EVER AND EVER” [Revelation 11:15]

This Worlds Wild Beast kingdoms, who have ruled now for many centuries on the Earth, will then be within the Messiahs Kingdom. His Kingdom is not some far away ethereal, otherworldly place, but right here on this planet. These very same nations, after His great End Time judgments, shall He then rule over, through His chosen people and Nation, Israel. These latter days are the chief period where the promises of all Old Covenant Prophecy will yet be fulfilled. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. [Luke 21:24]

This millennial Kingdom is explicitly written of in Revelation Chapter 20:110, which also includes the brief narrative on satan being loosed a little season. That season ends in his being cast into the lake of fire and brimstone; the fullness of what that first Word of Prophecy in Genesis 3:15 portended when it declared that (speaking of Jesus) “…he shall bruise (crush) thy head…”.

The rest of Revelation Chapter 20 prophetically describes the Great White Throne Judgment, leading up to the New heavens and the New Earth of Chapter 21, that which Isaiah had also foretold, now some 3700 hundred years before. (See Isaiah 65:17.) And Revelation 22 is the last of the prophetic Word, and describes the eternal state of the New Creation, and the fullness of the Salvation Plan. The essence of all Prophecy is now described in its full meaning, designed by God through His Only Begotten Son and First Begotten from the dead, in His accomplishment of the Restitution of all things. That is to say; that order lost, is now forever restored, in that His Desired Will is universally embraced by all.

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: [Isaiah 46:10] So it is that we might comprehend Jesus Christ in Scripture, understanding Gods Words and actions from beginning to the end of Scripture, adding to our faith and testimony/witness, as a fellow servant of Christ in the present; seeing of the end from the beginning and seeing of the beginning from the end. We should reflect then on these magnificent and mysterious Words given by Jesus Christ to John, who was instructed to Write this final Book, the fulfillment of all prophecy, the future consummation of all things through Him. So we now have Jesus Christ set before us as the Cornerstone of all understanding of prophecy.

We begin by that instructive Word, Remember the former things of old.  We must go to ancient Scripture to find the meaning of our present and future state. Gods “…declaring the end from the beginning naturally takes us to what is  Written in the first couple of Chapters of Genesis. Here we find the fall of Adam and his wife Eve, and the loss of the Kingdomto which all other Kingdoms must have some reference, and the pronouncement of the Curse on the Serpent, Eve and Man. After which God mercifully extended forgiveness to Adam and Eve through the Holy and Just determined principle then established. This principle being the life for life soul for soul sacrificial covering for Adam and Eve. (Genesis 3:21 Exodus 21:23, Leviticus 17:11) For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. [Leviticus 17:11] Compare with Hebrews 9:22. and almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission. And although the Creator forgave them, through their repentance (Genesis 3:12,13), and through the power of that appointed animals blood and life lost, it is clear from Scripture that blood and life did not have the propitiation efficacy to bring them back into the Garden and back to their appointed dominion which they had before the fall.

God then had something greater in mind when He spoke to that beguiling serpent, satan, that first great word of prophecy regarding the Messiah Jesus. And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. In a very straight line, this first prophetic verse ties Scriptural History to the yet future *Last Days events which John was being shown or told of in Revelation 19:9. The verse being the cause for which he was reprimanded for bowing and worshiping before the angel, where he was commanded to Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.  [Revelation 19:9]

So these future *End Time events, were true sayings of God, Who .calleth those things which be not as though they were. [Romans 4:17] These true sayings which John heard and was instructed to write about had to do with the marriage supper of the lamb placed in a specific 7 year Tribulation Period (revealed by the Prophet Daniel which we will fully expound on later), and the monumental events immediately on each side of it. This Chapter 19 of Revelation speaks of the future End Times and the event that all Prophecy points toward. This is the **marriage of the Lamb, and his wife (who) hath made herself ready, and the marriage supper of the Lamb…” which is toward the very end of that 7 year period and just prior to the Second Coming and the 1000 year Kingdom of Jesus Christ.

*Last Days or Latter Days have to do with unfulfilled Scripture in a specific time period prophetically connected with a 7 year Tribulation Period climaxing in Christs Second Coming, followed by His Millennial Kingdom reign. The time line of Old Testament Prophecy could be looked at as things which have been seen, passing through that time of Jesus Christs First Coming through the present day. As the things which are, and again passing through our present day into those days specific to the time of the Last Days, which are those things which shall be hereafter…” [Revelation 1:19,4:1] (See chart or time line.)

**Things so marvelous to John that he wrongly fell to the feet of a fellowservant to worship him. And therein he received the strong warning/rebuke from the Angel. This being the great sin of that future day, that which John was then receiving. That is the grievous sin; the worship of the Anti-Christ and the serpent/the fallen angel satan.

What is this marvelous Wedding Supper and the Great Event following in the Prophecy of Revelation 19? (Read.)

It answers to Christs Words:Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heavens (that is to say; sit down at the marriage supper of the Lamb in the first heaven associated with this earth). But the children of the kingdom (those  children of the kingdom being natural branchesfirst appointed unto that Kingdom of heavens) shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (a location and state not reflective of the Lake of Fire and Brimstone, its purpose and locale to be brought out in another chapter in this book). This was spoken by Christ after He found that great faith expressed in a believing Gentile, which is a precursor of their mysterious heavenly calling (Matthew 13, with Revelation 20:4-6) being taken from the Jews and given to the Gentiles after the Jews rejection of Him. Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. [Matthew 21:43 with Ephesians 2:15]

We would not be to far off to see this marriageas the opening up of the heavenly Gardenagain to the footsteps of previously fallen man, to the glorious Bridal saints of the most High Places. (Daniel 7:21,22 with Hebrews 3:1) This answers to the bringing forth of the spiritual Eve, the Bride, out of the Second Adams Body (Genesis 2:20-25) in Her now successful overcoming of the Serpent, and Her return in that heavenly and spiritual Garden.

And shortly following the Marriage Supper (Revelation 19;7-10), that ancient rest in the Promised Landto Abrahams seed, will finally be realized in the supernatural defeat of all the Itesof the Land. (Revelation 19:11-21) But the judgement shall sit and they shall take away his (the Anti-Christs) dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdomunder the whole heaven (on the earth), shall be given to the people (Israelites) of the saints (co-enjoined with those) of the most High (places)…” (Read Daniel 7:26,27, Genesis 15:18, Deuteronomy 11:24, Romans 11)

This further narrative of the 19th Chapter of Revelation takes us unto the 2nd Coming of Christ, in the latter, progressive, fulfillment of that first Word of prophecy of Christ found in Genesis 3:15 in that the Seed of woman shall crush the head of the serpents authority, and take the Kingdom back, that had been lost to man as recorded in Genesis Chapter 3

The preceding comparative prophetic narrative of Genesis 3 with Revelation 19 covers 6000 years of Scripture prophecy taking us to the great events of chaining “…that old serpent, and casting him into the bottomless pit, and the beginning of the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ; that 1000 years known as the Age of Justice, and the preeminence of the Jewish Nation upon the entire Earth, of which much of Old and New Covenant Prophecy has to do with. The completion of which shall then take us through 7000 years since Adams fall.

The 2nd Old Testament Prophetic Word after Genesis 3:15 also has these latter days in view, when Jesus Christ, the Messiah, would for the second time come This prophetic word being when Enoch “…prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints. To execute judgment upon all (irreverent).and their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. (Jude 14,15).  This verse jumped over thousands of years of Scriptural history and went directly to that point of Revelation 19:14. And the armies which were in *heaven followed him. (*heaven is singular and here related to the first heaven associated with the earth.)

The next great Prophetic Word we are looking for fulfillment in the Last Days was given to Abram and that can only be filled with its full meaning in the Messiahs Millennial Kingdom. And I will make thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. [Genesis 12:1-3] Shortly after the seed of Abraham was marvelously brought out of Egypt, God spoke this Prophetic Word unto them.Behold I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the Lord: for it is a terrible thing that I will do with thee.

This Prophetic Word sets the tone for the remainder of Israels career, beyond Egypt. Not only that great work the Lord will accomplish in the 7 year Tribulation Period, which is that time wherein we find the nation of Israel in Jacobs Trouble, Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. [Jeremiah  30:7] but right on through the Millennial end times. That is to say right unto the end of the Millennial Kingdom where we find this marvelously frightening future and final prophetic event. And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth.Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. [Revelation 20:7-9] The last great work of Israels Covenant of marvels, horrifically displayed upon the nations of the earth, is likened to the Pharaoh and all his armies being swallowed up in a fiery sea. [Exodus 14]

The first mention of the prophetic term latter days was by the lips of Balaam who failed in his attempts to have Israel cursed. After giving Balak council on how to cause Israel to stumble, he brought forth the Prophetic Word of Israels rise to preeminence in the earth at the Messiahs Second Coming.I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days…….I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and Sceptre shall rise out of Israel (a term comparative to Revelation 2:27,28, 22:16), and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.Alas , who shall live when God doeth this!

Moses, at the end of his life, spoke in song to Israel about their redemption and what follows, and made them memorize it. That song he prefaced with the same term Balaam used which stated their last daysconditionI know that evil will befall you in the latter days. [Deuteronomy 31:29] For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! [Deuteronomy 32:28,29]

The latter days encompass those of the Anti-Christ when God declares prophetically through Moses song the following. For the Lord shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up or left. And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted?. Let them (the Anti-Christ and his cohorts) rise up and help you, and be your protection. See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand..If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment: I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me. I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants (No longer the times of the Gentiles, that Age or dispensation of mercy and grace unto the nations, but now the expiation by shed blood in judgment. See Genesis 9:5,6) and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.(Read Revelation 15 and 19.) These latter days (7 years) events complete the Prophetic Word as it relates to the 2nd Coming and Judgment, and then the beginning of the era of Justice starts when the promises to Abraham and his seed/Seed will be fully realized in the Messiahs Millennial Kingdom.

The Prophet Samuel and King David establish the basis for the promised Messiahs future Millennial Kingdom over that Nation of Israel. Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime. Also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee an house (dynasty). And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of the bowel, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build an house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever.[2nd Samuel 7:10,12,13]

I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.”  [Revelation 22:16] And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.  [Luke 1:30]

PSALM 2 speaks directly to the End Times of the Tribulation Period when the Nations of the Earth will rise up in revolt against the Father and Son at the time of His imminent Coming. The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure, Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potters vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

And he that overcometh and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron: as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.  [Revelation 2:2627]

For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. [Revelation 19:19]

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. [Revelation 16:14]

As noted previously in the 22nd and 23rd chapters, the Psalms are replete with the End Times theme (Psalm 44-48; 65-69; 92-100; 145-150) as are THE BOOKS OF THE PROPHETS.
