ISAIAH’S END-TIME TIMELINE

ISAIAH Chapters 19-20

Mystical Egypt and Literal Egypt

LITERAL EGYPT

There has always been an affinity between Egypt and Abraham and his seed. Seen in part with his relationship with Hagar, Sarah’s Egyptian handmaid, whom she initiated relations, that resulted in his son, Ishmael. And then his offspring, the Ishmaelites who mixed with the Midianites, who were also the descendants of Abraham through Keturah, his second wife after the death of Sarah. [Genesis 25:1,2] These all settled in the Arabian Peninsula, to the East and South of the land given to Isaac by Abraham. Traditionally, Muhammad is said to be a direct descendant of Ishmael.

A brief Biblical and World history of Egypt is: After the flood, Noah’s three sons and their wives multiplied and began settling and establishing the area known as Mesopotamia. Where eventually the son of Ham, Cush begat Nimrod, who Scripture says to have begun his kingdom in the building of City and the infamous tower of Babel or Babylon. [Genesis 10:9,10, 11:1-9] It is with the confounding of the language and the scattering at Babel that the descendants of Noah were then scattered over the entire earth. (By the way, if you run the calculations of the family of Noah; the only survivors on the earth, over the 339 years between the leaving of the Ark and the confounding as a result of the Tower of Babel, conservatively at 3.5 %, there would have been almost a million people.) The sons of Ham ended up to the south: Cush (who begat Nimrod) became today’s Ethiopia, and Phut; today’s Libya, and Canaan’s descendants settled in the ancient heart of Abraham’s Promised Land, and Mizraim’s family tribe into ancient Egypt and today’s Egypt.

Egypt became a pharaoh (great house) that historically many think, misguidedly, was the cradle of civilization. Isaiah predicts in these chapters, and history confirms, Assyria invaded Egypt and defeated them, along with their allies, the Ethiopians, just as Isaiah said they would. Babylon, follows Assyria, becoming then the World power, also defeating Egypt. Then, the Persians who defeated the Babylonians became the conquerors of Egypt. Alexander the great Greek Emperor then defeated the Persians and ruled over Egypt, establishing his own city, Alexandria, as capital in 332 BC. Which remained Egypt’s capital even after the Roman’s conquest in 30 BC for about 700 years.

Now the Roman Empire is the fourth beast of Daniel 7, that shall survive in one form or another, until the Beast’s embodiment. That being the Anti-Christ, who shall rise up in the Last Days in a brief reign of terror before the Ancient of Days comes. [Daniel 7:19-22] The fourth Beast of Daniel greatly manifests itself here in the conquering of Egypt in 30 BC, a few decades before Christ is born. It came into the World in the form of a dominant military and governmental power. It was in the exercising of that power in Israel, in just a few more decades that the Messiah was cut off . [Daniel 9:26] And in that cutting off, is found the Atonement Salvation; and the subsequent Believers in Jesus Christ, the Messiah crucified.

What Jews and Christians had (have) in common as it relates to the Roman Empire, is that neither would participate in worshiping of their pagan gods. This being found to be a threat to the Roman Empire, the Jews were murdered by the millions throughout the ancient Roman Emperors’ persecutions. And indirectly, through later and recent day anti-Jewish pogroms. Jews that became Christ followers, and Gentiles who became Christ followers also suffered the consequences of some of the ancient Roman Emperors. The first Christian persecution organized by the Roman Government was by Nero in 64 AD after the great fire of Rome. Christians were persecuted and were brutally massacred up until shortly before Constantine’s edict of Milan, legalizing Christianity throughout the Empire. Including Egypt, in 313 AD, one year after his “conversion” to Christianity.

Christianity then rapidly declined, as seen in the Parable distinctly given by the Lord, of the mustard seed. The natural holy growth was replaced by un-natural, unholy, prolific growth. Mixed religion that incorporated beliefs and ritual practices from ancient Babel/Babylon, satanically inspired perversions of true worship. That is to say; all that is rightly due God Almighty the Creator. “Christianity” was then officially paganized as the Roman Empire’s official religion in 381 AD.

Catholicism then, as it is now known also, is the embodiment of much of that perversion, which became synonymous throughout the World with “Christianity”. As it is even until today in much of the World, especially is it seen as the face of Christianity in the Middle East today. And in the form of “Mystery Babylon the Great,” who is the Mother of religious prostitution, has her Harlot Daughters. Scripturally, she is the predominant one. She had/has in those last days great influence World- wide in destructive ecclesiastical or religious power and is associated with Rome. And is aligned with the Anti-Christ and his confederation. [Revelation chapter 17]

What the serpent attempted in many, but was most successful in Constantine, was to unite governmental worldwide power with a false worldwide religious system. That lethal combination survived only on a religious level. Satan, by grant of God, now in the End Times, unites the two again to further his plans of World dominance. But unlike in the type where the ecclesiastical survived and thrived, and the governmental arm was lost: The Anti-Christ removes all pretenses of worshiping God with his edict of destruction of the ecclesiastical Harlot arm of the Babylonian Mystery. And he establishes himself as “God” to whom the World was and is looking for as its “Savior” in one form or another. [Revelation 11:7, 12:13, and Chapter 13]

The Roman Empire ruled in Egypt from about 31 BC for about 700 years, until the Arabs, under the Islamic banner, invaded the country and defeated the Romans/Eastern Roman Empire forces in 644 AD. (And have been there ever since.) They forced them out of Egypt, declared a new capital, and established a new religion and culture in Egypt. Intermarrying all these centuries, until maybe the Coptic Christians of today represent the only remaining ancient “Egyptians.” ?

Modern day Egypt has about 82 million in population. And numerous ethnic groups that are predominantly Muslim, (90%.), and about 8-10% Coptic Christians. Islam, worldwide, has conflicting sects of Sunni (about 85%) and Shia (15%).

A brief history of the Christians is that Mark, while serving with Peter in pagan anti-Christian Rome, authored one of the first books of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And was one of the first to preach the Christian Gospel in Egypt, about 40-60 AD. Mark, by the Spirit was directed to Alexandria Egypt, where there was a large community of Jews. Where it is said by some of Church forefathers and by Coptic writers, that he began the first church there, and was later martyred there around 68 AD, for turning Egyptians away from their ancient gods. We also notice that Egyptians were present on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2.

MYSTICAL EGYPT

That Egypt is addressed here mystically as well as literally is seen in the first verse of Chapter 19: “Behold, the Lord rideth upon a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.” The setting up of the Judgment seat for the investiture of Jesus Christ as the King of kings in Revelation 4, and His subsequent opening of Seals, Trumpets and Bowls, are the sounding of the alarm of war declared by God on His enemies.

A swift cloud portends His judgments will come quickly, from behind the scenes. That is to say from that unseen realm of the first heavens, wherein the Seals of the latter days’ Judgments will be broken. From where He will direct and fulfill these ancient mystical prophesies on Egypt for their willful alignment and worship of other gods, in a literal manner.

God, having made covenant with Abraham and his seed, has made a very special addition to that covenant with Jacob’s seed AFTER they were miraculously removed from ancient Egypt, as seen in Exodus 34:10. “Behold, I make a covenant: before all thy people I will do marvels, such as have not been wrought in all the earth, nor in any nation; and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of Jehovah; for it is a terrible thing that I do with thee.” This covenant of marvels, are the end-time Judgments in its future and its greatest fullness. This is what is in view, as God gives these fearful Words to Isaiah. The final commencing of Isaiah 11:11 with the commencing of opening the seals and trumpets sounding of the Book of Revelation chapters 6, 7 & 8.

“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall beat off from the channel of the river unto the stream of Egypt and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children of Israel. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the great trumpet shall be blown, and they shall come which were ready to perish in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem.” [Isaiah 27:12,13]

“And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.” [Isaiah 19:5] A dreadful drought is the result of this Judgment. As in the days of Moses, the Nile’s waters were turned into blood so they could not drink the waters. So in this coming day, the waters shall be wasted and dried up. As once in the days of Moses’ judgment, the fish died, so here also. Fresh water turned to salt water is bitter, undrinkable, and would kill all the fresh water fish of the Nile. Is this prophecy not the time of the prophecy of John in the last days Tribulation period? “And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of water; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many died of the waters, because they were made bitter.” [Revelation 8:10,11]

At these fearful Judgments, the hearts of the Egyptians will fail, their confidence in their leaders and “wise” ones, who have spoken a different word, who predicted another outcome, are found to be foolish. But nevertheless, “And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols…..” [Revelation 9:20] AS IN THAT DAY, “….the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts.” [Isaiah 19:4] The fierce ruler will require their worship and bowing down to his idol image. [Daniel 8:23 with 11:42,43 read.] Thus, because of this fierce king, they shall fear, their hearts melt, and they will have no courage to resist, and most will perish unrepentant.

“And the Lord shall smite Egypt.…” But yet, as He has promised Israel, there shall be an Egyptian remnant. “…and heal it: and they shall return even to the Lord, and he shall be intreated of them, and shall heal them. ’ [Isaiah 19:22] As the Judgments come from unseen Hands obscured by the clouds of separation between the realms of spirit and material, so will He also manifest Himself in the cloud to them in the last day, as their Savior. “In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord: And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry unto the Lord because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a saviour, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.” (Is this a reference to the fearless faithful Coptic Christians of today, who although are steeped in religious rite, He remembers them in the end, who for centuries have held onto faith in Him, through life-threatening circumstances for hundreds of years, and therefore He allows them to entreat Him?) He who had tarried once there, will declare, “Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance.” [Isaiah 19:25]

Chapter 20 portends Israel’s past and future disregard for their Covenant with God with dependence upon man. Here related to us literally as that misplaced alliance and dependence on Egypt, and Mystically, in the End Time, their catastrophic covenant agreement with the “Assyrian”, the Anti-Christ. [Daniel 11:23, 9:27]
