The Revelation of Daniel Chapter 10

ANGELIC WARFARE

The Power of the Prayers of the Righteous in the Unseen Battle of the Angelic Realm

• First, a recap of the location of the third Temple in Shiloh.

DANIEL CHAPTER 10 The period of time that the vision revealed to Daniel by the Angel is: “Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days….” We may take this to refer to that same specific future time that Jeremiah refers to as “Jacob’s Trouble” in Jeremiah 30:7. “Alas for that day is great, so that none is like it; it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.”  And then finally the promised permanent restoration and the preeminence of the Nation of Israel upon the earth. Daniel 10, 11, and 12 are together the last vision of Daniel and they complete or give greater definition to the preceding ones. It is in answer to his earnest prayer for understanding in regards to the destiny of the Nation and people of Israel (God’s covenant people) and the end of God’s indignation. 

Angelic Wars… past, present, and future.

The Angel “in the likeness of the sons of men touched” him. It appears that man is not the first to be made in the image of God. A greater and more superior being of spirit had God previously created, having a similar likeness in outer appearance. Even that it is possible to entertain one unawares that they are an Angel/spirit being. [Hebrews 13:2]

That Lucifer is that fallen angel who led the first recorded battle of Heaven is apparent. And that he was and is the Serpent who manifested in the Garden and caused the downfall of man is Scripturally seen by all. Who the Lord Himself does not dispute that this World is his. [Luke 4]

Thus we discover in Scripture their continual presence along with un-fallen Angels in this world. People are subject to be controlled by the more powerful fallen angels. And since the disobedience and experience of death of Adam and Eve, (Genesis 2:15) mankind is generally akin (John 8:44) and subject to special attacks of satan, “who has the power of death.” [Hebrews 2:14] God’s Angelic forces are to monitor and control the wicked forces’ attacks on Churches and people in general. [Hebrews 1:14, Revelation 1:20]

Satan, whose name is also the great Accuser, is so named because it is by that usurped position of authority, (given to man over the earth Genesis 1:28) which came the lawful means of accusing, and controlling man. It is by this right of authority that he initially solicits right of harm on people in general, but especially God’s people. Satan’s never-ending accusations are self-serving appeals or demands based upon God’s spoken Words or Nature that are universal law. They are then the basis for all angelic activities, rogue or ordered throughout Creation. [See Job 1 & 2 for example.]

The spiritual battle of Daniel 10 is based upon who has authority. Satan and his angels mightily resist a directive of God that was given to the Angel to give to Daniel in the first day of his prayer into their realm of authority. A directive essentially that he is acutely aware would reach down through time to you and I today. Satan’s accusations and demands were surely many and effective for 21 days. Possibly the answer to that declaration was in the questioning of Daniel’s depth of sincerity in the warranting of revealing such a detailed end-time expose. The sending of Michael finishes the matter.  It is a communication disruptive to unarguably satan’s rightful kingdom that has implications down through time in the earth. It’s an expose of satan’s future activities going on record and available to those who will receive it by faith. This dangerously could and will perpetuate “faith-based prayer”. That is to say, lawful death-defying, overcoming activity that weakens satan’s kingdom as it weakens his hold upon that person who exercises it. [Revelation 1,2,3 and 12:11] 

Satan’s true enemy in the earth are people who have this type of earnest “faith” in God. Not just in their assent as to His Being and being born again, but those who have set aside the things of this world that they may attain a fuller spiritual knowledge and actively and earnestly seek God’s Will in the earth. Soliciting and petitioning through the vehicle of earnest prayer, thereby facilitating His lawful intervention into this realm wherein satan has authority. This they do in spite of what appears to be, or what is, a Godless World and is constantly represented as a futile waste of their time. Faithful, selfless works, and defying appetites is the just means God has determined for accessing Divine intervention into this realm. 

Judas’s betrayal is the unseen example of another spiritual war of resistance over the right of the Messiah. In response to Judas’s betrayal, “Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword. Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?”

Later, Jesus said to Pilate, “You would have no power over me unless it had been given you from above; therefore he who delivered me to you has the greater sin.” (Satan first, Judas second, Israel 3^rd, then Mystery Babylon, and Rome.) [John 19:10] 

Christ speaks here to satan’s authority in the earth. Who also accordingly filled the heart of Judas to betray Christ. All of which answered to a mighty Judicial battle in the heavens associated with this earth, before manifest on earth, similar to that found in Daniel 10. (And the first and 2^nd chapters of Job and in other places such as Ezekiel 1 and Revelation 4) These, the fallen angels, are ruling “from above” in the heavens associated with this World, effectively between Heaven and earth where we exist. That is to say as “the prince of the power of the air”, (Ephesians 2:2) these are the forces, (and more specifically satan) to whom the Lord is alluding to.

It is they, who are fully aware of their wickedness, who incur the greater sin and responsibility. And that being when they, in perfected time, will be called into account. They’ll be called to answer for this greatest of injustices that sealed their fate. And that will be in the pending all-decisive war on the battleground of this World’s heavenly realm. It will be in that very specific end-time period of which Daniel and John give us the players and the events leading up to and including the actual War’s commencement and conclusion starting in the Book of Revelation chapter 12 and ending in chapter 20. The specific triggering event of this greatest reckoning being that great and notable moment, midway through the 70^th week of Daniel. In the casting of satan and his forces of evil from their lofty place, wherein they have worked all their nefarious deeds since ancient times. 

John writes: “Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they were defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world, he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Rejoice then, O heaven and you that dwell therein!  But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” [Revelation 12:7-12 RSV]

What is additionally in rear-view here, as it relates to the fallen angels, is their deferred judgment, in the great idolatry they perpetuated in what as known Scripturally as mystical Babylon. That prohibited direct joining of this world’s heaven above with the human beings of this earth beneath, represented in the Tower of Babel. The prophesied like-kind of spiritual alignment and activity that again is welcomed by darkened man between the two realms in these last days.

Jesus having trusted, that is to say, even more, our Lord by “faith” in the Wisdom of God, thereby died first in His soul. That is to say he died to His own declared will of letting the cup pass if possible, yet He resisted not the Will of God and offered up no prayer of direct resistance, by the which He boldly declares He would have been delivered. And satan, confident on the legal ground of his accusations and demands on which he stood, (whatever they might have been) unwittingly forced the issue of Christ’s death. [1 Corinthians 2:8] And that he did gleefully in the controlling of Israel’s religious men; that which will prove to be his greatest demise. 

Are not Christ’s Words of “wars and rumors of wars” just a reflection or a telltale sign of what is increasingly happening here in the end time in the unseen cosmic realm above? Will not the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse be just a reflection of that final end-time assize or gathering in the heaven above the earth? And the predicted result is the increasing release of mass angelic forces loosed to wreck havoc upon the earth.

Is it not that soon coming conflict, brought about in the heavens above, due to the pressing up of the earnest prayers of a few of God’s “greatly beloved”?  And the knowledge of His time of indignation that forces the great battle in the unseen heaven above the earth, wherein God assesses the World anew? And that according to His Son’s great offering of sacrifice and reward of endless Glorious Kingdom as it then relates to Israel and the wicked rebellious Nations of the World. Is it not this that Christ had in view when He predicted wars and rumors of wars? 

Was it not the result of one of these preliminary and exampled great conflicts in the heavens above that resulted in the World-wide terror of World War 1 & 2 on the earth? Where man hardly was anything but a puppet being orchestrated by higher authority in mass from the unseen realm and used in the greatest human destruction up to that time since the flood of Noah’s day?  Look at the history of Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler. These were obscure, wicked, unscrupulous men Guided and deceiving (and deceiving others) by an unnatural fascination? Rising to power in stealth and broken pacts and promises in the wake of worldwide upheaval. More of these invested with supernatural skills to rise to power out of obscurity are coming, until that one man. (the antichrist) From wars he finally shall arise likewise to take the nations under his control. He’ll take control like the earth has never seen, one with the full authority in the earth of satan himself. [Revelation 13]

Like Daniel, there are those whose prayers are ever-ascending up to Christ. Though heard but hindered, and in due time, as his were, shall yet prevail. For it is the prayers of the saints that finally bring the will of God to fruition. [Revelation 5:8, 8:3, & 4] And though the powers of evil above resist the saints’ prayers, they pray on……
